Welcome to Rivet Bat Video
Rivet Bat Video offers you a selection of videos by several of the bands that are listed on this site.
Please note that the video section currently only works properly with Internet Explorer and with Firefox. In Opera,many of the features yield unpredictable results. Other browsers were not yet tested at the time of writing this helptext.
Q: How can i upload a new video?
A; Uploading your own video:
- Click the "Upload Videos" button.
- Click the "Browse" button to browse to and select the video file on your own computer.
- Click the next "Browse" button to browse to and select a thumbnail image of the video you are uploading (if you don't have a thumbnail image, check the box "I will not upload a thumbnail for my video")
- Click the "Upload and go to next step" button.
- Be patient, your video will be uploaded now. This can take a lot of time.
- When the upload finishes, you can enter the title and some details for your video, as well as some tags.
- Click the "Save" button and your video will be recieved.
After your video has been reviewed and approved, it will be available for all visitors to view. It will then also be shown when you click the "My Videos" button.
Q: How can i add a remotely hosted video?
A: Adding a remotely hosted video:
- Click the "Add Videos" button.
- Paste the link to the remotely hosted video (see below for supported servers) and click the "Apply" button.
- Please review the title and the details for accuracy. Pleae note that the "Publish" option wil be set to "No". This is normal.
- Click "Save" and your submissionb will be recorded.
After your video has been reviewed and approved, it will be available for all visitors to view. It will then also be shown when you click the "My Videos" button.
Q: What video formats are supported?
A: Currently, the supported video formats are:
- FLV (Flash Video)
- SWF (Shockwave Flash movie)
- MPG (MPEG video format)
- WMV (Windows Media File)
- AVI (AVI movie)
- MP3 (MP3 audio file)
Note that the file types WMV, FLV and SWFgive the best results!
Q: What remote hosts are currently supported?
A: At the moment, 37 different remote hosts are supported. The most notable are:
- Youtube
- MySpace video
- Gofish
- ifilm
- Metacafe
- Movieweb
- Putfile
