Virgin Black pleasantly shocked their fans when they announced they will be releasing 3 albums this year... simultaneously! Musically, things have been very quiet around this Australian outfit since their 2003 album "Elegant... And Dying" to an extend that some people thought that the band had split. With these 3 upcoming releases, the band proves that they are still alive, and then some. Each of the 3 albums will have it's own atmosphere and flavor. Requiem – Pianissimo will be played entirely by the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, accompanied by a choir with tenor, mezzo-soprano and soprano soloists. On Requiem – Mezzo Forte, the band will join the orchestra. This album will resemble Virgin Black as you have known them so far, though (as the band says) with greater epic breadth. Requiem – Fortissimo will be much more heavier than anything you have heard of Virgin Black so far. There will still be some classical elements, but the sound will lean more towards Death Metal or Doom Metal. As of now, no release date has been mentioned, but you can trust BMGIP to keep an eye on VB's website and let you know about it as soon as a date has been set. Discuss this article on the forums.
