Band: Splyntr Album: Noise and Brotherhood (unmastered) Label: Mannequin Oddio Media Tracks: 9 Last January i've posted my first mention of Splyntr on this site and in March the band took the demo offline, much to the dismay of people who were actually curious about what i was raving about. Now many moons have passed since then and the Kwantes brothers are almost ready to release their very first full-length CD, entitled "Noise and Brotherhood" and we have managed to extort from them an advance, though unmastered, copy of the upcoming album. The first thing that you'd notice is how different they sound now as compared to their first and only demo. They have obviously done a lot of maturing and learning and have been listening to loads of bands to pick up some tips and tricks. To pick just one band to compare the "new" Splyntr to would do no justice to their music, i can only say that their new sound reminds me of a variety of bands ranging from Heart of Darkness, Cesium_137 and Mentallo & the Fixer to Resurrection Eve, Front Line Assembly and VNV Nation. The tracks are varied and the order of the tracks well balanced. Production-wise there has also been a lot of improvement. It's pretty hard to believe that the copy i have heard is an unmastered copy, the sound is that good. Even though this is an unmastered copy (which i can't emphasize enough!) i really think that this album has the potential to become a must-play in your local club, wether it's a Christian or a secular club. It sure has more than enough potential hits on it! A warning to all bands: Look out, Splyntr's coming! As a little bonus, here are the lyrics for the first track of Noise and Brotherhood, called "The Tortured Beginning" The Tortured BeginningFind Splyntr in the links list Trackback(0)
