Band: The Terminal Generation
On some tracks the industrial overtones are most dominant (Japanese Hit Gurl, What I Know), on others the funkyness is the most defining feature of the track (Duh Knuckle Song, Auctioneer), but in almost all tracks, a distorted metal-ish guitar is present that reminds you of what "death" stands for in "post-industrial death funk". Singer Hugo Mustafo constantly uses a lot of distortion in his voice, which makes it terribily hard to understand what he sings, erm, screams. But my overall impression is a favorable one, in fact, i like it and i like it lots. All elements are nicely balanced and even the metal-ish guitars (which i usually don't care for too much) add to the experience which is TTG. TTG put a lot of variation into their songs where many other bands just want to keep the tempo as high as they can. Even though TTG isn't a strictly industrial band, their approach is definitely of an old school industrial nature, anything goes and they do it with a lot of style, As for the title: "Monstrosity" is only an adequate description of this disc if you like monsters. Otherwise, forget the title and go get this album! It should be out by November 1st. Discuss this article on the forums. (0 posts) Trackback(0)
